A Pennsylvania woman is seeking justice after a dog she re-homed was found dead, hung from a ceiling by her hind legs in Perry County.

According to a lengthy Facebook post , former owner Gwendolyn Paige said her pit bull, Ruby, was found in the Perry County home “hanging, beaten and dead.” Paige found out about Ruby’s death earlier this month and has launched a crusade for charges against the people who had taken Ruby in last year.

State police in Newport conducted interviews and searched the Perry County home on Nov. 9, where they said they recovered the dog’s body. Police did not release any further details.

“This is still an ongoing investigation, and anyone with any information is encouraged to contact PSP Newport at 717-567-3110,” a news release said.
