EAST RUTHERFORD - From a football perspective, Jaxson Dart looked ready to return for Sunday’s game against the Detroit Lions .

The medical aspects of concussion protocol are going to force Dart and the Giants ’ quarterback to wait.

Giants interim coach Mike Kafka said Dart is still in protocol after not progressing to the final stage, so he will not play Sunday.

Jameis Winston will start his second straight game for Giants (2-9), who have lost five in a row and 11 on the road.

If and when the independent neurological team says Dart can play, the Giants should not think twice about playing him. Need a news break? Check out the all new PLAY hub with puzzles, games and more!
