Six individuals have been arrested in relation to an incident at a house party that resulted in a man having his hand severed.

The ECHO previously reported that the 18 year old victim had been attending an 18th birthday celebration on Friday, 26 September.

The party took place at a residence on Colin Close in Huyton, where the incident occurred.

After sustaining the life-altering injury, he dashed into the Stanley Arms on Roby Road, directly opposite the party venue, just after midnight on Saturday, 27 September.

He managed to enter the pub moments before it locked its doors, with pub staff attending to him. A witness recounted to the ECHO how his hand was "cut clean off" upon entering the establishment.

A 17 year old also sustained a minor hand injury during the incident.
