Chicago's "official" Christmas tree will light up in Millennium Park Friday night as part of the city's iconic Tree Lighting Ceremony.

The city's 112th annual Christmas tree -- a 68-feet tall Norway spruce, from suburban Glenview -- will be illuminated near the intersection of Michigan Avenue and Washington Street, starting at 6 p.m. With 185 lit spheres, 1,200 light strings, over 119,000 LED lights and 39,250 feet of lighting, it will remain on display through January 11, officials said.

As part of the ceremony, guests will be able to enjoy seasonal treats and live entertainment starting at 5 p.m. The evening caps off with a fireworks display. Below is the full schedule of events, along with how to watch it live from home and what to know if you are attending in person.
