Romano’s Macaroni Grill in Susquehanna Township is permanently closed.

A sign posted Friday at the Italian restaurant at 2531 Brindle Drive at the Shoppes at Susquehanna Township alerts customers to the closure.

“We are permanently closed. Thank you for 20 great years!” it reads.

PennLive was unable to reach anyone at the restaurant for comment.

The chain has struggled financially through the years, and in 2018 emerged from Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

Recently, Romano’s Macaroni Grill locations in Sacramento, California; Reno, Nevada; and San Antonio, Texas have closed.

Phil Romano, an Italian-American, founded the chain, opening the first restaurant in Leon Springs, Texas in 1988.

At one point the chain operated more than 200 locations.
