Two-hundred families received a turkey and all the fixings needed for a Thanksgiving meal on Friday, just in time for the holiday.

Ebony Price was one of the people who waited in a long line in front of the Grace Community Center in Toledo to take advantage of the United Way of Greater Toledo’s fourth annual United for the Holidays event.

“I’m a single mother so this is wonderful for me,” Ms. Price said.

The event saw volunteers from Nationwide Children’s Hospital and Stellantis pack black bags with Thanksgiving fixings including green beans, stuffing, mashed potatoes, and yams.

Wendy Pestrue, chief executive officer of United Way of Greater Toledo, said volunteers from FedEx, SSOE, Sheetz, and other companies helped pack Thanksgiving boxes earlier in the week.
