CLARKSVILLE -- Authorities are investigating after a body was found floating in a lagoon at the Tyson Poultry, Inc. wastewater treatment plant Friday morning.
Staff at the facility, 1231 S. Crawford St. in Clarksville, called Johnson County 911 at 9:54 a.m. and Clarksville Police Department officers responded, Chief David Smothers said in a news release.
Police found the body of a white male in a lagoon on the south side of the facility, according to the release.
The body was recovered with assistance from the Clarksville Fire Department, Arkansas State Police and the Johnson County Coroner's Office, the release stated.
An investigation is ongoing, Smothers said.
The body was sent to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for identification and autopsy, the release stated.
