Proud Scotland star Lewis Ferguson admitted getting to the World Cup was his big goal after he cruelly missed out on Euro 2024.
The midfielder heartbreakingly tore his anterior cruciate ligament just months before Steve Clarke’s side were due to head to Germany.
It was a crushing blow for the Bologna star but it made him even more determined to get back fit and firing, to get the country to their first World Cup finals in 28 years.
Ferguson was true to his word and used that pain and disappointment as major motivators.
He established himself as a mainstay in Clarke’ s squad and played a huge part in this qualification campaign that led the country to America, Mexico and Canada next year.
