BOISE, Idaho — Boise Airport operations are resuming after dense fog and an apparent outage impacted arriving and departing flights Friday morning.

An airport spokesperson told KTVB low-visibility conditions across the airfield from the fog, as well as an "outage involving FAA navigational aids," slowed operations as holiday travel heats up.

The types of planes able to take off and land safely at the Boise Airport (BOI) were limited due to the "simultaneous factors." Airlines also have specific regulations for operating in low-visibility conditions, the spokesperson said.

BOI had 50 flight delays and 13 cancellations on Friday as of roughly 12:20 p.m. The airport experienced 38 delays and nine cancellations on Thursday, a representative told KTVB.
