A cold week across the UK was marked by widespread frost, chilly days and a number of snow and ice warnings. A blast of Arctic air swept across the nation, causing temperatures to plummet and prompting wintry showers for many.

The Met Office said temperatures dropped to -12.6C overnight at Tomintoul in Scotland, making it the coldest November night since 2010. As wintery weather sets in, some may have noticed a change to their sleeping patterns.
