Advanced practice providers at Legacy Health announced Friday they plan to strike starting at 6 a.m. Dec. 2, according to a news release from the Oregon Nurses Association.
The union represents 135 advanced practice providers across the Legacy system, including 10 employees who work at Legacy Salmon Creek Medical Center.
Advanced practice providers include physician associates, nurse practitioners, certified nurse midwives and clinical nurse specialists.
They delivered their formal strike notice to Legacy management Thursday after 18 months of bargaining and voting overwhelmingly in mid-October to authorize an open-ended strike. Since then, the group has met with Legacy management seven times in an effort to reach a fair contract, according to the Oregon Nurses Association.
