UPDATE: The Soddy-Daisy Board of Commissioners voted to push the first vote on the asphalt plant to January 15, 2026. The decision came after the town's mayor, Jim Coleman, shared that Jamie Thomas, the proposal applicant, was not able to attend the meeting.

Those in attendance were audibly frustrated with the postponement. One resident requested a larger venue, such as a school, for the January 15 meeting, as Thursday's meeting was beyond capacity per the city's fire marshal.
