New mascot Freedom II introduced at Georgia Southern football game

For the first time in more than two decades the Georgia Southern football team began the season without beloved Bald Eagle mascot Freedom. Freedom, who died suddenly in March, was known for his pre-game flights from the top of the press box at Allen E. Paulson Stadium. Freedom would swoop down soaring above the stands until he found the outstretched arm of trainer Steve Hein on the field.
