GREENSBORO, N.C. — Students at Western Guilford High School staged a walkout Tuesday afternoon, stepping out of class around 2:20 p.m. to protest recent activity involving U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in North Carolina.
Organizers say the idea started simply as a way to show support for Hispanic families. One student told us he was amazed by the turnout.
Students say the demonstration made them feel confident their voices were heard.
