A minimal countywide millage to raise about $4 million for infrastructure improvements at Martha T. Berry nursing home was passed in a close vote by the Macomb County Board of Commissioners.
Commissioner voted 8-5 to levy a 0.1 millage next year to provide about $4 million to fund most of the cost to repair its elevators and replace the heating and cooling system, at its monthly meeting Thursday in the county Administration Building in Mount Clemens.
There was no discussion Thursday but officials talked about the proposal earlier this month at a Health and Human Services when it passed by a 7-6 tally.
