The Royals have gotten a couple of pieces of business done in advance of Friday’s non-tender deadline. They agreed to terms on a 2026 contract with infielder Jonathan India . They also added to their bullpen, signing right-hander Alex Lange to a one-year deal.

India had been considered a candidate to be non-tendered following a first season in Kansas City in which he posted a .233/.323/.346 line. He was acquired in November in a trade that sent Brady Singer to the Reds.

A source told MLB.com the deal is worth $8 million. He made just over $7 million in 2025.

Lange, who turned 30 last month, missed much of the 2025 season due to injury. Over five years with the Tigers, he sports a 3.70 ERA with 29 saves in 196 appearances -- all in relief.
