The Diamondbacks re-signed free agent catcher James McCann on Friday to a one-year, $2.75 million contract, a source told MLB.com. The deal includes the potential to earn another $500,000 in bonuses based on days on the active roster.
The club has not yet confirmed the news.
When Gabriel Moreno went on the injured list in June , McCann requested and was granted his release as part of his agreement with the Braves (he was with their Triple-A team at the time) and the Diamondbacks quickly signed him .
