ELK GROVE, Calif. —
A soccer team from Elk Grove proved to be one of the best in Northern California.
The MLS Next under-19 boys play in the most prestigious youth soccer league and went to Tucson a couple of weeks back for a western qualifier for the MLS Next Cup.
The team finished as the tournament runner-up and still qualified for the event as the only team from California, according to Elk Grove Soccer's CEO.
They were short on players over availability issues and injuries but still made it through, proving their resilience.
The MLS Next Cup is set for next spring in Utah.
Hear from the players and the club's CEO in the video above.
