ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) -An O’Fallon, Missouri, man received a suspended seven-year sentence and was placed on probation for five years after he reached a plea agreement Friday for his role in a fatal 2023 crash.
Christopher Thomas, 51, pleaded guilty to one count of involuntary manslaughter this week. Thomas admitted to speeding through the city before crashing into another car at South Broadway and Keokuk Street on Oct. 8, 2023.
A passenger in Thomas’s vehicle, 29-year-old Maya Thomas-Scott died in the crash.
Prosecutors said Thomas’ blood-alcohol level was more than three times the legal limit at the time of the crash.
The St. Louis Circuit Court said as part of the plea agreement, prosecutors dismissed a count of armed criminal action and amended a class B felony charge of D
