What you need to know about this weekend's weather
There are yellow warnings in for ice in place on Friday for the northern tip of Scotland and across the entire eastern coast of England, which will be in place until late morning. Similar yellow weather warnings for ice are also in place for parts of North Wales and South Wales, as well as Cornwall.
Temperatures will drop again this evening, becoming colder and windier with rain pushing eastwards overnight. The latest weather maps show rain sweeping across the country in the early hours of Saturday morning, which is expected to hit the North West and Greater Manchester about 3am, turning heavy at times over high ground.
