LUMBERTON — The North Carolina Small Grain Growers Association (NCSGGA) has announced that an assessment referendum will take place on Thursday, Dec. 4, approved by the Board of Agriculture on Monday. Polling places will be located throughout the state in each Extension office. The rate of assessment is 0.005 of total money a farmer receives on wheat, oats, barley, rape seed/canola, rye and grain sorghum for a six-year period. This assessment period will begin on Jan. 1, 2026, and will continue until Dec. 31, 2031.
