LUMBERTON — While many get into the Christmas spirit even sooner, the Thanksgiving holiday, which is Thursday, signals the traditional start to the Christmas season.
While many will spend Black Friday shopping for discounts on Christmas gifts for their loved ones, many others don’t have that luxury — a good reminder that the Empty Stocking Fund needs your help.
As December fast approaches, donations are continuing for the Fund, which helps provide Christmas gifts for local families who might not otherwise be able to afford them for their children.
The Empty Stocking Fund has currently received $3,340 in donations as of Friday afternoon. That includes the following donations this week:
— Inquirer’s Club, $200
— Lumberton High School Class of 1975, $250
