DES MOINES, Iowa ( KCCI ) - UnityPoint Health will begin using artificial intelligence software to help streamline and inform care for patients through a partnership with Mayo Clinic.
The program, called Mayo Clinic Platform_Insights, uses de-identified patient information and research from Mayo Clinic to help doctors make treatment plans. The software was developed using more than 3 billion lab tests, 1.6 billion clinical notes and more than 6 billion medical photos.
The Chief Medical Officer for UnityPoint Health said the technology will not replace doctors but will help free up resources to provide more care, especially for rural patients.
“Our collaboration with the Mayo Clinic Platform Insights is really just additional tools in the toolbox,” said Dr. Gregory Johnson, UnityPoint
