ARLINGTON, Texas — The Texas Rangers are making major changes to their roster, parting ways with four familiar names while locking in one outfielder for the future.
The team announced Friday that outfielder Adolis García, catcher Jonah Heim, and pitchers Josh Sborz and Jacob Webb did not receive contract offers for the 2026 season ahead of the league’s deadline . That move makes all four players free agents, meaning they’re now free to sign with any team.
In baseball terms, “non-tendering” means the team chose not to commit to a guaranteed contract for next season.
Texas did strike a deal with one player: Sam Haggerty, who agreed to a one-year contract that covers the 2026 season and avoids salary arbitration.
Haggerty, 31, played 64 games for the Rangers in 2025 and hit .253, with
