MONROE PLACE — Hundreds of spectators, including dozens of members of the judiciary and courthouse staff, came together yesterday for the 15th annual Milton Mollen Commitment to Excellence Awards.
The event has become the most inspiring and heartwarming annual public ceremony in the entire Second Department.
The awards, which took place at the Appellate Division, Second Department at 45 Monroe Place, honored the memory of Mollen, a Brooklyn-born jurist, public servant, and anti-corruption figure.
From 1978 through 1990, Mollen served as presiding justice of the Appellate Division, Second Department. He passed away in 2017 at the age of 97.
The awards were presented to eight employees of the Unified Court System within the Second Judicial Department, which encompasses Brooklyn, Queens,
