MARINE PARK — A Brooklyn sleep technician who secretly filmed patients in bathroom stalls at a Long Island medical facility was sentenced Thursday to six months in jail, the New York Daily News reports .
Sanjai Syamaprasad, age 48, admitted to placing hidden cameras inside bathrooms at the building housing Northwell Health’s Sleep Disorders Center in Great Neck between July 2023 and April 2024, The cameras were disguised as smoke detectors, and captured images of “thousands of individuals,” according to the Nassau County District Attorney’s Office.
Detectives searched his Marine Park home last year and recovered electronics and storage devices. Syamaprasad later told investigators he destroyed one of the cameras and smashed an SD card before throwing both into a CVS trash can.
