For many people in Cardiff bin day means seeing black bags torn into by seagulls and other pests with litter spread across the streets. While some households use wheeled bins, other areas have to put their black bags onto the street awaiting collection, where they are often picked apart by animals.
In a bid to make Cardiff 's streets cleaner and stop birds and pests from tearing open rubbish bags and scattering litter, Cardiff Council has introduced seagull sacks across the city.
Every household that once used black bags instead of wheeled bins has now received two 70-litre sacks equivalent to a 140-litre wheeled bin. Never miss a Cardiff story by signing up to our daily newsletter her
