LOUISVILLE, Ky. — In the past week, there have been several claims on social media that an iconic movie theater in Louisville is closing.

WHAS11's Ian Hardwitt reached out to Apex Entertainment, ownership group of Baxter Avenue Theatres , for answers.

Regarding the speculation, Apex Entertainment said, "As we look ahead, we are also evaluating the future of Baxter Avenue Theatres within the evolving local real estate landscape."

Apex Entertainment also clarified that the theater's liquor license is current and active.
