LANCASTER, Minn. — Lancaster is hosting a benefit for a man who grew up in the area and was recently diagnosed with brain cancer.
Tucker Nelson, a Concordia College graduate, was diagnosed with glioblastoma and given a timeline of 18 to 24 months to live.
His wife, Kiya Nelson, says his positive attitude has been remarkable throughout treatment. Tucker is currently on a one-month break after 30 rounds of radiation and 48 days of chemotherapy.
"The energy that a lot of people are putting into this, and they're reaching out to us and asking what we need, and it was just astonishing to be like, see good people come together and, like, do such a good deed, even when they don't have to do it," Kiya said.
The benefit will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 22, at the Lancaster Community
