A former Methuen, Massachusetts, police officer accused of lying about his police qualifications was in court Friday, but an expected guilty plea didn't go forward.

Sean Fountain faces charges including criminal fraud and perjury for allegedly saying he graduated from a police academy when he didn't.

Former Police Chief Joseph Solomon is facing similar charges . He's accused of deceiving others into believing Fountain had the proper certifications, and also allegedly hired intermittent officers only to later appoint them to full time roles.
