A transgender woman was convicted of murdering a man in a Boston hotel room in 2021.

A Suffolk Superior Court jury found Rodgers, 28, of Hollis, New Hampshire, guilty of second-degree murder for stabbing a man named Christopher Kellar to death in Boston on Feb. 20, 2021. Rodgers now identifies as a woman but did not at the time of the murder.
Prosecutors say that Rodgers drove with his wife and Kellar, who was Rodgers’ wife’s brother, as well as Kellar’s girlfriend to Boston for a birthday celebration. They checked into Hotel Indigo, at 280 Friend St., where both couples planned to stay the night.
