WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) -- We constantly hear about the high number of children in the foster care system, especially in Sedgwick County. A recent report notes the county is struggling under the weight of finding those children forever homes.

EmberHope has been responsible for foster care in Sedgwick County since 2024. The county is home to the largest number of foster children in Kansas, and EmberHope's CEO Nickaila Sandate and the organization are responsible for them.
