NEW ORLEANS — One man is dead and another is injured after a fatal hit-and-run Friday evening in New Orleans East, according to the New Orleans Police Department.
All lanes on Chef Hwy are closed, NOPD says.
The accident happened around 5:55 p.m. in the 6300 block of Chef Menteur Highway. When officers arrived, they found two victims. One victim was identified as a 63-year-old man and the other was taken to a nearby hospital.
NOPD said the vehicle was reportedly a "tan-color hatchback automobile" with some damage to the left side and front of the car, a release said.
