MIDFIELD, Ala. —
Some Midfield drivers say the city's new cameras to catch speeders are ticketing them, even when they're not speeding. But city leaders say they work just fine.
There are three speed detecting cameras in Midfield. They went active in August and have been busy. Bridgett Burrell said she received three violations within 10 days, and she insists she was not speeding in the 30-mile-per-hour zone. She said, “It stated that I was going 45 mph, and that's in a school district area. So, I know that I'm not going fast like that, driving around because I have a child of my own.”
There are signs letting drivers know about the cameras. Burrell believes they aren't calibrated correctly.
