A band of rain is expected to move into parts of Massachusetts on Friday night ahead of chilly temperatures over the weekend.
The rain is projected to fall in southeastern parts of the state late Friday, according to National Weather Service forecasters. Most areas of the state will see cloudy skies overnight with temperatures in the 30s and lower 40s, though Central and Western Massachusetts should remain dry.
The rain showers will taper off by noon on Saturday, forecasters said. Skies are expected to clear statewide by the afternoon, though areas like Cape Cod and the Islands may not see much sunshine before nightfall.
