They also agreed to a one-year contract with outfielder Tyrone Taylor, reportedly worth $3.8 million, to avoid arbitration.

The lefty Young, who pitched to a 4.50 ERA across 52 games with the Mets, underwent Tommy John surgery in May, while Kranick, who posted a 3.65 ERA across 24 games and 37 innings this year, is coming back from flexor tendon repair surgery that he underwent in the middle of this season.
