A man was arrested after a fire was intentionally set inside a popular Long Island restaurant on Thursday, Nov. 10, according to Suffolk County Police.

The blaze broke out at Riley Fibbers on 148 Carleton Avenue, East Islip, at approximately 7:30 p.m. after a patron ignited the back area of the building, prompting an evacuation, police said. No injuries were reported.

Arson Squad detectives identified the suspect as Paul Lucia, 60, who allegedly set the fire after being asked to leave the restaurant, according to the release. Officers later found Lucia in his vehicle, which had stolen license plates.

Lucia, of Lincoln Ave. in Islip Terrace, was arrested at the Third Precinct around 12:15 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 21. He is charged with Arson 2nd Degree and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 5th Degree, police said.

He is being held overnight and is scheduled for arraignment at First District Court in Central Islip on Nov. 22, authorities said.
