SAINT PAUL, Minn. — A federal jury has convicted Mikhail Robin Wicker, also known as Michael Robin Wicker, for wire fraud, mail fraud, and fraudulent use of military honors. U.S. Attorney Daniel N. Rosen says Wicker, 39 from Clay County, falsely claimed to be a decorated U.S. Marine, fabricating stories of deployment to Iraq in 2005 and receiving prestigious military medals. He used these falsehoods to obtain over $140,000 in benefits from the Department of Veterans Affairs, according to court documents. Evidence showed Wicker never served in the military.
