ANN ARBOR – Michigan’s hockey used a big third period to down Ohio State on Friday at Yost Ice Arena.

The second-ranked Wolverines erased a pair of one-goal deficits in the first two periods and then scored twice in the final 10 minutes of the third for a 5-2 victory.

Captain T.J. Hughes had a team-high six shots on goal and had several of the team’s best chances in the first two periods but couldn’t finish. He didn’t make any mistake on an Adam Valenti centering feed from behind the net, burying his seventh goal of the season at the 10:56 mark.
