SEATTLE, Wash. – Doctors at the University of Washington School of Medicine have noticed a troubling trend among chronic cannabis users: stomach pain and severe vomiting.

These symptoms are now officially recognized as "Cannabis Hyperemesis Syndrome."

The University of Washington has reported an increase in these cases in emergency rooms.

Dr. Chris Buresh, an emergency medicine specialist at UW Medicine and Seattle Children's, commented on this condition.

"It seems like there's a threshold when people can become vulnerable to this condition, and that threshold is different for everyone. Even using in small amounts can make these people start throwing up," Dr. Buresh stated.
