CHEBOYGAN – Penalties kill all sorts of momentum in hockey.
For the Cheboygan Chiefs , who were trying to start their home season in strong fashion on Friday, Nov. 21, they spent way too much time in the penalty box. Meanwhile, the visiting Dexter Dreadnaughts took advantage by scoring six power play goals in an 8-1 victory at Ralph G. Cantile Arena .
About 15 minutes following his team's loss, coach Seth Duncan finally came out of the locker room.
And he wasn't in the best of moods.
“It’s unacceptable — and that’s on us as coaches,” Duncan said. “It’s about finding a way to motivate players to want to win games and score goals and not commit penalties all the time and go shorthanded. That is the game, and so if we can’t realize that staying out of the box is a good thing, we’re not
