Controversy continues to grow around Engel Stadium after the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga announced plans to demolish it to build a women's athletic complex earlier this year. This week, there is a renewed effort growing from those who want to keep the stadium standing.

Friday night, a few dozen people met at White Duck Taco on McCallie Avenue to share their concerns and discuss ideas to keep the historic field from being torn down. Many also shared their personal connection the ballpark.

"I came to many games as a child and as an adult. I've been to many games at Engel Stadium. I love the ballpark. Many people do not realize what we had until it was gone," recounted John Bradford, a Chattanooga resident.
