Bengaluru: In a move aimed at bringing government schools on par with private institutions, the Karnataka government has instructed all government schools to establish a presence on social media.

The Department of School Education and Literacy issued the directive to headmasters as part of efforts to increase enrolment for the 2026–27 academic year, according to the Deccan Herald on Friday.

The instructions urge schools to create accounts on platforms such as Facebook, Instagram and X, and to use them to showcase facilities, student achievements, enrolment details, board exam results and day-to-day activities.
