A hit-and run victim has described the moment she was ploughed into by an e-scooter rider as she stepped into a Coventry street. Maria Green said she was knocked unconscious in the collision that left her needing surgery and dental work.

The rider had been travelling the wrong way down a one-way street at speeds of 40mph. He was also looking in the wrong direction when he crashed into Maria as she left a medical appointment.

Callously, as he pulled her onto the pavement, he told her 'I've got better things to do than this." He added: 'I’ll get you off the road and then I’m going," before leaving the scene.
