Heavy flooding at an apartment complex in Palms left multiple vehicles submerged overnight after heavy rain sent water rushing into an underground parking garage, authorities said Friday.

The flooding occurred in a basement-level garage on the 3700 block of Kelton Avenue, near Venice Boulevard, where residents awoke to find murky water pooled deep enough to trap roughly a dozen cars. Video shared with KTLA showed alarms echoing through the structure as brown water rose past car doors and reflected off headlights in the dim garage.
