Temba Bavuma is leading South Africa in the ongoing two-match Test series against India. On Day 1 of the second red-ball match taking place at Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati on Saturday, November 22, the right-handed batter has entered his name in the history books by becoming the first South African captain to score 1000 runs in the World Test Championship.

A total of six players have captained South Africa in WTC matches, but only Bavuma has managed to score more than 1000 runs.
