Scores of benefit claimants across the UK will get some extra money ahead of Christmas this year, in the form of a Christmas Bonus from the DWP. But not all benefit claimants will get the money as not everyone is eligible.
The Department for Work and Pensions provides the tax-free £10 Christmas Bonus to people who get certain benefits in the qualifying week. This is normally the first full week of December.
To get the cash , you must be present or ‘ordinarily resident’ in the UK, Channel Islands, Isle of Man or Gibraltar during the qualifying week. You must also get at least one of the qualifying benefits. ChronicleLive has previously explained who qualifies for the bonus
