A pensioner's dog allegedly bit a man in what would be the animal's second attack in 15 months. Ian Nichol already has a past conviction after his pet injured a minor in 2024 and was aware the dog, called Bruno, was under a contingent destruction order, meaning it had to abide be certain rules in public or risk being seized and put down.
However, just 15 months later, the same animal, a Staffordshire Bull Terrier cross, allegedly bit a man as it was tied up to Nichol's mobility scooter outside Heron Foods, in Kenton, on May 16 this year.
