Welsh darts star Gerwyn Price has called on the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) to rethink its prize money distribution, despite this year's World Darts Championship boasting a record-breaking £5million pot.
Price , known as The Iceman, has voiced concerns over the payment structure for the prestigious tournament held at London's Alexandra Palace, suggesting it has regressed. In 2021, Price clinched the World Championship title and a cool £500,000 after defeating Gary Anderson.
This year, though, the champion will walk away with an astounding £1million. Despite the increased prize for the winner, the 40-year-old believes the system needs an overhaul, as players are fighting harder on the oche for less rew
