We, as the youths in this community, truly believe that what the City Council is doing to help fight against homelessness is amazing, as the collaboration with many nonprofit organizations have been showing improvements on this city’s issue with homelessness. However, more can be done to combat house costs and expenses in general.

Although homelessness is being combatted well, it’s not really being fought at its core. There are a lot of people, and not enough affordable housing for the people to access, which is the main cause of homelessness. If there was more work put onto the core of the issue, that being that houses are too expensive leading to people struggling to get a place.

Jobs are another important factor, as there isn’t much availability for job hirings, and the wages are too
